Paragra is a Mac app that turns PDFs into EPUB books. This page explains what happens to your data while you use it — in plain language, not legal filler.
Your book stays on your Mac
Text recognition (Apple's Vision framework) and AI paragraph cleanup (Apple's on-device language model) both run entirely on your Mac. The PDF you open, the text Paragra recognizes, and the EPUB it produces are never uploaded anywhere — not to Paragra's developer, not to Apple, not to anyone. There is no server involved in converting a book.
Analytics
Paragra uses Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used — things like which screens are opened and which features get used — so it can be improved over time. This never includes your book's content, file names, or anything you typed or scanned. Paragra has no accounts or sign-in, so this data isn't tied to your identity.
Firebase processes this data under Google's Privacy Policy.
